3D scanning supports 3D printing

Green values and ecological thinking are accelerating the development of lightweight and efficient structures, while new generations are placing a lower burden on the environment by consuming less energy and materials. In order to continue this trend, product development requires ever increasing amounts of accurate information about product application areas. This ensures that products can be produced as efficiently as possible and that they meet their set requirements. 3D scanning and 3D printing are complementary technologies that are coming strongly to the fore in this regard.

Material audits increase profits – seeing is believing

‘Been there done that. You won’t achieve anything without major investments or disturbing product quality.’ This is a commonly held misconception regarding the scope of investment and its effect on end products when discussing the merits of introducing resource savings measures. Pilot audit cases in Finland and a decade of small and medium size enterprise audits in Germany have shown, however, that real and significant savings can be achieved with relatively small investments in material audits. In short, resource efficiency pays, and does so handsomely.
